Matt Damon has boycotted the loo!

I have been a Matt Damon fan ever since Bourne Identity happened, but my craziness as a fan has been bolstered ever since I got to know about him being the co-founder of Water.org.

His current viral-initiative for World Water Day (22nd March), which does leave many-a-question in my mind especially when he mentions that he will not visit the toilet until every person in the world has access to clean water and a toilet! He is on Strike!

On second thought, he may be, you know, visiting the wash room but the video might just get the needed eye balls especially with the World Wide Web insatiably speaking about him and his announcement.

What he also does highlight in the video is the gravity in his concern. The toilet, he continues, has saved more lives than any other invention in history. A few other water facts I have listed below are shocking!

  • More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes. Nearly all deaths, 99 percent, occur in the developing world.
  • 780 million people lack access to an improved water source; approximately one in nine people.
  • More people have a mobile phone than a toilet.

For a cause like this, whatever may be the means and approach, if it gets the good job done all this brouhaha is worth every cent. For $25, you can give a person clean water for life.
