Honor the Earth

Bringing Art & Nature Together

Honor the EarthEach bag is a unique project –a blend of ideas, forms and colours which make every item a work of art. Drawing on the traditions of original art by American Artists off the walls and bringing it into our everyday lives by screening it onto certified organic cotton handbags, using water based dyes is what Eco Art Productions is all about.

Eco Art Handbags are a statement about our environment. The art represents our diversity as a country by showcasing artists from all walks of life, different regions of the country and different ethnic backgrounds.

Started in the year 2008 and based in New York, the President & Founder of Eco Art Productions, Rebecca Singer says

Concern about the environment and a belief that going natural is the healthiest and most earth conscious way to go is what led me to start this venture.

All my life I have had an interest in the art and natural products. In the 1970’s my mother had cancer and after that became very food conscious and stayed away from additives and chemicals in foods.” This, she says, inspired her to become a green person.

For Rebecca, it is important to create products that people love, and then the organic part of it becomes a natural extension that people come to value and respect. People must be educated about the benefits of green and how it creates greater value. She definitely thinks green concerns are much more natural with younger people who have grown up with its importance.

The organisation started out using GOTS certified organic cotton and water based dyes for their handbags.  Added all packaging material in recycled paper, and then started looking for other green companies to work with, including Credit Services Company that invests in other green companies. It is a slow but steady attempt to incorporate green into all aspects of the business at the same time educating customer about the benefits. According to Rebecca “It has been very important to us to keep our prices as low as possible so we reach more people with our green and art message.”

Eco Art Productions is planning to expand by producing flip flops with the art work and would like to do other shoes,  tee shirts,  home decor items, such as decorative pillows, towels etc. She says “Our Gallery of Artists is continually growing and represents the ethnic and cultural diversity of the USA. We are looking at expanding to other countries. We have done some fitness art work on yoga and exercise totes for a major fitness club, Celebrity Fitness, in Indonesia,Malaysia and they have just opened inIndia andSingapore.”

Well, we wish you all the very best and success in the coming future.
